Dr. Laurie Anne Stanell has been providing comprehensive dental care since 1988, and her expertise in dental sleep medicine means you’ll receive personalized, cutting-edge treatment that fits your lifestyle—no bulky CPAP machines required.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder where your breathing repeatedly stops and starts throughout the night. These pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes and may occur 30 times or more per hour. When your airway becomes blocked, your brain jolts you awake to resume breathing, disrupting your sleep cycle and preventing you from reaching deep, restorative sleep stages.

TMD (Temporomandibular Disorders)

TMD refers to a group of conditions affecting your temporomandibular joint—the hinge connecting your jaw to your skull. This complex joint allows you to talk, chew, and yawn, but when it doesn’t function properly, it can cause significant pain and discomfort. TMD symptoms include jaw pain or tenderness, aching around your ear, difficulty chewing, facial pain, and a clicking or locking sensation when you open or close your mouth.

Snoring

Snoring occurs when air can’t flow freely through your nose and throat during sleep, causing the surrounding tissues to vibrate and produce that familiar rattling sound.

Not all snoring is the same. Some people snore due to underlying conditions like sleep apnea, chronic nasal congestion, enlarged tonsils, or being overweight. In contrast, others snore because of anatomical factors such as a thickened soft palate or an elongated uvula. Habitual snoring can strain relationships and leave both you and your partner feeling exhausted.
